Toiminnan Yleiskatsaus
Opiskelijasi tekevät päätöksiä joka päivä, ja toivottavasti he kaikki päättivät tulla luokkaan tänään. Tämä on saattanut olla heille ”ei päätöstä”; muutama eri ihminen varmistaa, että he ovat koulussa päivittäin. On olemassa kahden muun tyyppisiä päätöksiä: pikapäätökset ja kohtuulliset päätökset. Se, nostavatko he kätensä luokassa, on ”pikapäätös”. Heidän on päätettävä nopeasti ennen kuin joku muu nostaa kätensä. Tämä päätös tehdään yleensä harkitsematta seurauksia tai tuloksia. Kotitehtävien tekeminen koulun jälkeen tai lounaan aikana on "kohtuullinen päätös". Tämä johtuu siitä, että he punnitsevat vaihtoehtojaan ja valitsevat parhaan mahdollisen lopputuloksen. Tässä toiminnassa opiskelijat luovat kuvakäsikirjan, joka näyttää kolmen tyyppiset päätökset. Kuvien luominen auttaa opiskelijoita luomaan yhteyksiä sisältöön ja säilyttämään tiedot. Jos pyydät heitä kuvaamaan joko tänään tai viime päivinä tekemänsä päätökset, toiminta vahvistaa toista oppimistavoitetta. Se, että he tekevät päätöksiä päivittäin, voi lievittää painostusta ja antaa heille itseluottamusta tehdä näitä johtopäätöksiä, jotka ovat johtopäätöksiä, kuten hakeutua korkeakouluihin tai kieltäytyä joutumasta vertaispaineeseen.
