We need to find solutions to help prevent this. One way is to stop our behavior. Even though it doesn't help to pick up trash in the ocean since there are about 3.5 million tons of trash in the ocean, but it still will help a little.

Facts about the Great Pacific Garbage Patch: -It is the biggest garbage patch -Charles Moore found the garbage patch in 1997 -Made up mostly by plastic -The center is calm and stable -Cleaning up all the trash is tough -Most trash (70%) sinks to the ocean floor underneath the patch
