  • The Battle Of New Orleans 
  • Protecting Sailors and Settlers
  • "Sounds like a deal!"
  • "No we don't want to!"
  • Impressment
  • "You're part of the British Navy now."
  • This war was an unnecessary and just pointless the U.S. won the in the war against Great Britain. Right away about 2,000 British soldiers were killed compared to only about 20 Americans.
  • President Jefferson's Dilemma 
  • "England has become a den of pirates and France has become a den of thieves."
  • James Madison offered France and Great Britain a deal that if they could maintain attacks at sea they would trading with their enemy. Napoleon agreed with Madison's offer.
  • The XYZ Affair
  • "Let's end French attacks!"
  •  Great Britain began impressing (kidnapping) Americans and forcing them to serve in the British navy. 
  • Battles on Land and Sea
  •  John Adams finally became at peace with France but that didn't last long. Jefferson complained a lot about "England being pirates and France being thieves" 
  • President Adams sent three representatives to France to ask the French to end the attacks. 
  • War Hawks thought conquering Canada was "a mere matter of marching." Three years in a row U.S forces crossed into Canada but British forces turned them away each time.
