Storyboard Text

  • Mrs. Granger, you have so many dictionaries in this room! Where did all of these words come from? Did someone just make it up?
  • Great Question! Why don't you do a report on that and share it with the class tomorrow!
  • Excuse me, you are not allowed to chew gum in school! Come with me.
  • Oh, and make sure you parents sign it and you bring it back tomorrow!
  • Now you must wear this bright yellow index card with the gum on it for the rest of the day!
  • I have one!
  • I think I lost my Frindle
  • In the beginning, Nick was at school...causing trouble. It was almost the end of the period and being the Smart Alec that he is, Nick had a plan to get the whole class out of doing homework, but the plan backfired!
  • Mrs. Granger is very strict about chewing gum in school and if she catches you she will punish them. Later that day she found a student with gum.
  • Take the money so you can travel!
  • Take the money for your daughters college saving!
  • Nick wanted to find a clever way to mess with Mrs. Granger so he created the word frindle which meant pen.
  • Dear Nick, If you are reading this, your word is in the dictionary! I knew that this would happen and i wanted it to happen. I just had to be the "bad guy in the story" because no story is good without a bad guy!
  • Mrs. Granger was determined to stop the word "frindle" so she kept, whoever she caught saying it, after school.
  • When Nick turned 21, he was thoughtful enough to give some of the money that he earned to his parents and his brother.
  • Mrs. Granger sent a letter to Nick 10 years later explaining that she was very helpful with getting the word in the dictionary.
