  • Follow me into the Promise Land
  • I promise to follow as best as I can by God's word, and everything will be good
  • King David is the best
  • HAVE MERCY ON US 
  • WE RULE THIS LAND NOW
  • Why are they doing this
  • In this scene Moses is leading the Israelites out of Egypt to Promise Land. God had asked Moses through a burning brush to lead the Israelites out of slavery and into the promise land. Moses following God wishes as a true leader did exactly what he asked. In order to get to the promise land, they had to pass the Red Sea. After forty years of wandering Moses died within sight of the Promise land 
  • MOVE FURTHER UP, TO PAY YOUR TAXES 
  • All we have left if our religious leaders 
  • COLLECTING TAXES HERE PLEASE!
  • In 1000 B.C, the kingdom of Israel was formed. Saul was the first king, followed by David who would be the greatest of all kings. He established Jerusalem as the major city. His son Solomon built the temple. Eventually the land became divided. The Northern kingdom was called Israel and the southern kingdom was called Judah.
  • We will rule over the world, and conquer all the other kingdoms
  • In 720 - 585 B.C, The Kingdoms were taken over by the Roman Empire. They were led by powerful generals. The Romans had an idea to expand their empire. When the Romans conquered Palestine, they began to establish provinces of their own. The Romans were able to build a strong empire which was how they over controlled the people the have conquered.
  • I love playing with my traditional toy called dreidel.
  • In 538 B.C the Persians defeated the babylonians and King Cyrus. They rebuilt Jerusalem and the temple. Cyrus appointed officials to rule the country and collected taxes from the people. The Persians did not allow the jews to have their own government or king. Jews depended mostly on their religious leaders. People like the temple priests and scribes were a big part of the Jews leaders.
  • In B.C the Greek empire led by Alexander the Great expanded and took over Israel. Alexander the Great began taking over kingdoms around the Mediterranean. Alexander only lived to be 33 years old but in that time he was one of the most powerful people form his time.
  • A Greek ruer named Antiochus controlled Palestine and wanted to force Jews to worship Greek Gods and Goddesses. A priest named Judas Maccabeus and his followers rebelled, and fled to the hills and became an army called Maccabees. Maccabees ruled over the Greeks out of Palestine, and got rid of any relies items that were not of their own. Each year up until this day, Jews still celebrate an event called Hanukkah and is consider to be a miracle up until this day
