  • Conflict

  • Setting:  Scotland Character: King Duncan, Macbeth, Banquo,  Witches, Macduff, Malcolm
  • Climax
  • Conflict: Man vs Self: Macbeth vs self Macbeth gets overcome by his dark desires for royalty and is willing to do anything he can to achieve them. This starts when Macbeth learns about his prophecy about being king from the witches.
  • Falling Action
  • Macbeth proceeds with his plans to gain royalty. In doing so he kills King Duncan and Banquo. He goes to the witches on more time to learn about his future and is warned about Macduff. For safety, Macbeth kills Macduff's family.
  • Denouement
  • The second prophecy is proven true. In the final showdown with Macbeth and Macduff, Macbeth learns that Macduff can kill him.
  • Macduff kills Macbeth and it is the end of a rule by a tyrant.
  • Malcolm, the king Duncan's son, claims the throne in Macbeth's place.
