Anna's cause of death was DKA ( Diabetic Acidosis ) DKA is a compication of Type 1 diabates and occus when the body produces ketones.
* Sickle Cell Anemia - Led to chest pain and hypertension *Diabetes -Pancreas produces little or no insulin, leading to DKA because of ketone acids building up. *Heart Disease - led to signs of peripheral vascular disease. *Infections -urinary tract infection picked up at hospital which led to high levels of hormones contributing to DKA.
Factors/Diseases contributing to death
Nausea and vomiting (vomit at crime scene)
Symptoms of DKA
Frequent urination ( from UTI)
Thirst (juice at crime scene)
Short Term prevention to prevent her death in the long run, she could have had a healthier life by: Excercising regularly Eating healther( diet) Following through medications Managing diabetes
