  • How a Bill Becomes a Law
  • Yeah, I've heard of it. Hopefully this Bill doesn't pass. I'm a very busy man.
  • Hi Jerry.
  • Did you know there might be a community Service Act for graduating highschool?
  • Step One
  • Step Two
  • Great idea! I'll write it up as a Bill!!!
  • Thomas Jakubicki Period 7
  • Step Three
  • We should send this to the House of Representatives!
  • First, the Bill starts out as an idea that Constituents had or have, and want to make a bill out of it.
  • Step Four
  • Yea!!!
  • This Bill is Approved!!!!!
  • Yea!!!
  • The Constituents call a representative, and if the representative likes the idea, he or she writes up the Bill.
  • Step Five
  • The Bill now goes to committee to discuss and debate upon.
  • The House of Representatives and the Senate debate upon the bill to deny or approve of it.
  • The Bill is now sent to the president and the bill is either signed into a law or is vetoed and sent back to the Legislative branch. If two-thirds of congress agrees on overriding the veto, the bill is a law. Luckily for all the High school students, the Bill does not become a law. And that is how a bill becomes a law.
  • This Bill is outrageous!!! Veto!!!
