I'm Frances, it is 1958, and I am 12. I am from France. My dad, Jacques, is a barber and my mom, Julia, is a stay at home mom. My dad does not make a lot of money to support the family.
My parents want to go to America to get a higher paying job, like an electrician. Of course, that means I might have to leave my family behind. It,s kind of scary.
I knew it! He owes me five bucks!
Although we are having no problems in France, We are being pulled into America because it has more job choices, Better education, and more money.
But we will leave relatives and friends, and when we get there, we will not know anybody.
I will get a good education, my dad will get a better job, and the whole family will get more money.
Moving to America is for economic reasons. We need the money.
We inherited enough money to buy a plane ticket. We flew to America, and dad got a new job as a factory worker.
I got a good education at a public school, and I am currently In college. My family now has a lot of money.
