This is Marcel. He loves to ride his bike. His Parents own a bakery. He delivers the baked good to the homes on his bike. Marcel lives during world war II in France.
While Marcel was delivering the Bread to his Aunt and Uncle's house he got hungry. He was delivering two loaves of bread just for the two of them so he broke off a piece of it. Marcel found a note inside of it. He figured his parents was working against the Germans and that it was very important for his Aunt and Uncle to get it.
Marcel went to school and met this girl named Delphine. She was very nice and she liked to ride bikes like Marcel. One day this kid bullied her and dumped all of the stuff out of her bag. There is where he found the picture of her and her brother in paris. This is where everyone found out that she was jewish. She never came back to school.
Marcel and his parents needed to help Delphine and her family. He needed to ride around town to deliver messages. He was out all night but he knew it would be worth it to save Delphine and her family.
Marcel being out all night paid off because they had a plan to save Delphine and her family. They left on the Bakery's carriage. After they left all Marcel could think about is if she got out of France safely.
After going to school for weeks without knowing if Delphine is safe of not Marcel got a picture in the mail. It was a picture of Delphine with brown standing next to her bike. This made Marcel very proud because he saved someone's life and their family's life.
