Joey the horse gets sold to a farmer and a young boy named Albert. Joey will be a work horse. Since albert and his dad are a poor family they will have to get a surplus of food to sell so they can pay the horse off.
Albert and Joey become best friends. Zoey is the other horse. Joey and Zoey become best friends.
You can take him we don't need him
During Word War One Alberts father sells Joey to pay off the rent of their barn. Albert says his last goodbyes and promises that he will find Joey again.
During World War One Joey and his new friend Topthorn get captured by the Germans. Now they work by pulling carts and canons.
After the Germans are done using Joey and Topthorn they are given to a little girl and her grandfather. The girl is very sick and the only thing she lives for is these horses. One day the Germans take the horses back to use. Topthorn eventually dies because he was to weak.
After the Americans find Joey they send him to a base. Luckily Albert is there and he recognizes Joey. Now Albert and Joey are happy. One day they decide to move bases and they will sell every horse. The little camp decides to give Albert money to buy the horse and he finally is back with Joey
