  • Act I, Brave and Fearless
  • "Who, like a good and hardy soldier, fought/ 'Gainst my captivity.- Hail, brave friend!" (Macbeth, I, ii, 4-5)
  • Act II, Guilt
  • " I could not say 'Amen'. When they did say 'God bless us'" (Macbeth, II, ii, 26-27).
  • Act III, Ambitious and Mastermind
  • "Both of you/ Know Banqou was your enemy" (Macbeth, III, ii, 113)
  • Macbeth is a brave solder who fights for what is right. Also, he is willing to help his allies in their need of doubt.
  • Act IV, Bloodthirsty
  • " The castle of Macduff I will surprise,/ Seize upon Fife, give to th' edge o' th' sword/ His wife, his babes, and unfortunate souls" (Macbeth IV, i, 150-153)
  • MacbeOnce, he finds out about his prophecy he decides to intervene causing Macbeth to feel guilt of the murder of King Duncan.
  • Act V, Confident
  • Macbeth think he must be able to keep his kingship, so he hires murders to help him. He convinces them that Banqou is their true enemy and how he makes a plan to have them kill Banqou and his son to secure Macbeth's kingship.
  • Final Analysis
  • Macbeth is willing to do anything just so he can keep his kingship for a while. For example, he is willing to murder Macduff's family.
  • Macbeth knows about his prophecy, so he is confident when the English force attack his castle because he can only die to a person not born by a woman. Which leads him to think he is unbeatable.
  • "I'll fight till from my bones my flesh be hacked./ Give me my armor" (Macbeth Act V, iv, 32-33)
  • Macbeth had multiple mistakes that lead to his death. For example, the kill of Duncan, Banquo, and Macduff's family. Although he had many mistakes his biggest mistake is his power hungriness and the conflict with his prophecy.
