I wait until I hear my mom and dad go to bed before getting out of bed. After I hear my dad's snoring, I sneak down the stairs to the kitchen with the intent of getting food.
In the kitchen, I get food to bring to Anton. I worry he is hungry and thinks I won't come back. I bet he is scared I will turn him in. I'm about to bring him the food when I hear my dad. I run back to my room.
In my room, I wait until I hear my dad's snores before moving again. I debate about whether or not to bring Anton his food. I decide against it because I don't want to risk waking up my dad and Anton being found.
"My father will pay five thousand dollars to the person who can get me out of this prison." Anton told the guards. Nothing happened for eight days.
On the eighth day, one guard followed Anton to the latrine where he asked about the money. A deal was made, the guard would get a diamond pendent if he could get Anton safely out of the camp.
Soon after, Anton was driven out of the camp's gates and he gave the guard a dollar's worth of glass jewelry. Anton was free without leaving so much as a trace to tell where he had gone.
