Today we will be talking about, the Mesoamerican Ballgame, played by the Aztecs long ago.
Did you know that over 1600 rubber balls were sent twice a year to Mexico and we only recovered 50 of them!
Most of the ancient rubber balls didn't make it because they easily decay from, light or if it gets left in the soil for too long.
The europeans also played a ball game, but their balls were made of leather and they didn't bounce as much as the rubber balls did.
The secret recipe for making these rubber balls was a mixture of sap from a rubber tree and other native plants.
When spanish exploers came to Mexico and saw the rubber balls in action they were amazed at what they saw.
