Storyboard Text

  • You fine chaps should definitely vote for Jefferson. At least he has the countries best intentions in mind... Burr on the other hand, has no idea what he's doing!
  • Alexander Hamilton
  • Voter
  • That is true. Okay, we'll vote for Jefferson.

  • Alexander Hamilton
  • I'm not going to duel you!
  • Fine! I'll meet you in the forest.
  • I shall not!
  • The you are a coward and a liar! Everyone will know and you'll be ruined.
  • Then take back what you said about me!
  • You fool! You lost me the Presidency! How dare you. I demand a duel! Meet me at Weehawken, New Jersey and we'll settle this.

  • The next day, Hamilton passed way from his wounds.
  • However, later on, because of his work as the vice president, Burr’s case was dropped in New Jersey. Though by then, Burr had already stepped down from the Vice Presidency.
  • On August 2, a New York jury found Burr guilty on two counts. One on the account of dueling and one on the felony of murder.
  • I, personally, believe that it is never justified to have a violent duel to fix political issues. I think that the grown men and women that create political issues with their words can solve them in the same fashion and without violence being nessisary.
