I was a very pretty blonde haired blue eyed girl. I look like I should have friends. I smile a lot and try to be friendly, but I have no friends at recess I'm picked last in all recess games, Even behind the girl that never baths.
I couldn't figure it out at first. Then I began hearing stories about my step dad robbing the convenience store or selling drugs. Did he? No . You would think in the 1980s there wouldn't have been that much prejudice. But in the small town I grew up in he was the only Hispanic man.
Young kids can be ruthless. I remember some young girls asking me to stay after school and play with them. I was very excited. It was a sad joke on me. I ended up walking home as they threw rocks at the back of my head.
You'd think that the town was the only place that I got it. No. Some of his Mexican family, I was the Querra. I was never family even though my mother got with him when I was one and a half. Always laughed at. Alone.
it was hard being laughed at constantly and having no one to turn to everywhere I went I would get discriminated for who my stepdad was
No one would give me a chance and there was nothing I could do because nothing I did could change who my family was so when I was 15 I moved in with a friend for a few months and then ended up living with my grandmother my life was a constant roller coaster
