Storyboard Text

  • Sure. My name's Rhea.
  • Hey, do you want to sit with us?
  • Why are you wearing a scarf over your hair?
  • It's part of my religion, I'm Muslim.
  • Sure!
  • Cool! I'm Christian and Veronica's Jewish.
  • Hey do guys want to go to the library with me?
  • So what is Islam?
  • Well... it was founded by the prophet Muhammed and originated in the Middle East. We believe that there is one God and that Allah should be worshiped directly. There's two types, Sunni and Shia, and the main difference between them is who they believe can be a religious leader....
  • Two students in the lunch room invite Rhea, a new student, to sit with them.
  • The girls talk and introduce themselves, and then decide to go to the library.
  • As they head to the library, Rhea goes on to explain Islam to her new friends. Talking about how it originated, the types, and their beliefs which include the 5 pillars.
  • Hey, can you guys help me study for Mrs.Yi's test?
  • Veronica explains what she believes, and points out some of the similarities and differences between Judaism and Islam, while they walk down the halls to the library.
  • Jews believe that Abraham was a prophet too! Actually he was the founder of Judaism, which also started in the Middle East. We believe in one God, justice, righteousness, and law. Our most sacred text is the Torah, but there are also other texts too.
  • At the library, Christine, explains Christianity and points out some similarities and differences between it and Judaism and Islam.
  • Christians believe in one God and that Abraham was a prophet, but not Muhammed. Actually we use some of the same text as Jews; the Bible is a combination of the Old Testament, the Torah, and the New Testament. We believe that Jesus was a prophet, like Muslims do, but also that he is the son of God. There are two main categories of Christianity, Catholic and Protestant, which are then divided up into even more denominations.
  • The girls continue to talk and start working on homework now with a better understanding of religion.
  • Sure.
