  • How the Gods got their powers
  • The purpose of this story is to explain what Zeus, Poseidon, and Hades did to get their power.
  • A long time ago, there was a war. It was between Cronus and the titans v.s. Cronus's children: Zeus, Poseidon and Hades.
  • The war lasted for 10 years until Hades released a Cyclops. In gratefulness, the cyclops gave them each a power. Zeus a thunderbolt, Poseidon a trident, and Hades a helmet of darkness. With these powers, they defeated Cronus and the tritans.
  • Since defeating Cronus, they became the 3 rulers of existence. They decided to draw lots to determine their domains. Zeus drew the sky
  • Poseidon drew water
  • And Hades drew the underworld. They decided that they would rule each area. That is how Zeus, Poseidon, and Hades got their powers.
