•   Ava! My Completing the Square test is tomorrow and I have no clue where to start!
• So we have      6(x2 + 2x) - 9...
• Suppose you're given 6x2 + 12x - 9. First, you divide terms a and b by the coefficent of x2.
• Plug your squared number back into the bracket (1), then place the negative of your product (-1) outside the bracket, multiplying it by the number before the bracket (6).
• Divide the coefficient of x by 2, then square it. 2 divided by 2 is 1, squared, is 1.
• Now it's...                6(x2 + 2x + 1) - 6 - 9 ?
• Yep! Then replace what's in the bracket with x and your original x coefficient (2) divided by 2 (1), then square the bracket.
• I know what to do now! I'll simplify the outside numbers and get -15. So my final answer in vertex form is 6(x + 1)2 - 15!
• We now have     6(x + 1)2 - 6 - 9 then.
• Thanks Ava! I think I'm ready for the test now!
• Exactly!
