Hello, my name is Alejandro, and I am moving to America for a better opportunity.
I waited in a very very long line to get to a plane, and now I am finally on it with my mom and cousin.
Alejandro is going to move to America for a better opportunity.
He flew on an airplane for a few hours when he finally arrived to D.C/America.
The schools here are very different.
When he arrived to America, his mother worked in an embassy, and they payed for her, but they did not allow Alejandro to live with her, so he was sent to a foster family.
He stayed in a foster family for 4 years, and went to school.
Colombia's school was more strict, there were new classes everyday, from 3:00 to 6:00 pm, and schools there were more strict, it was like college. But here, its less strict and you have the same classes everyday.
The difficulties Alejandro faced as an immigrant was that he had a hard time adapting to the new culture. It was hard learning the new culture and language of this country. But he made it through and now he is more used to everything in America.
