The police called me and a few detectives straight away to examine the body and look for evidence.
The body was found by hikers at the lake at the crime scene around 12:30 PM.
We found some physical evidence, a backpack and some glasses. We'll need to take them to the lab to find trace evidence.
CSI Units and other specialists came to document evidence and interview witnesses.
The points of entry and point of exit were found and documented.
Other detectives found latent prints. footprints leading from the street to the crime scene.
We were able to find one bullet lodged in the femur, meaning the cause of death was blood loss from the femoral artery.
We found skin left on the bones, and sent it to DNA analysis. Toxicology was not needed; no hair or stomach.
It was sent to ballistics right away.
DNA found three different DNA strands in the glasses, backpack, and skin sample.
It was clear then that the suspect had an accomplice.
After a few weeks of more investigations, we were able to track down the two criminals.
The two were put in jail for 2nd degree murder, and the case was closed.
