Al-Zahrawi wrote the book, On Surgery and Instruments.
The book had info on what types of surgery to perform and what to perform it with,
The book had instructions on how to treat certain things all the way from the common cold to a broken leg. The instructions in the book always had warnings just in case an amateur doctor tried doing the surgery them self.
Step 1: Do Not Cut The Patient.
Step 3: Treat the wound with care and do not cut into the wound unless necessary.
Step 2: Cut with the SMALL knife not the big one.
Step 4: Dress wound and make sure the patient can still move.
If you ever had a cut or bruise, you know what to do when you notice it. The only reason you know that is because, a long time ago someone wrote all the ways to treat certain things.
Most medical books have information from the book he wrote. We even advanced some of their methods of surgery with our modern tools.
