Storyboard Text

  • "Now and again she would glance up at the clock, but without anxiety, merely to please herself with the thought that each minute gone by made it nearer the time when he would come."
  • It didn't take long, four or five minutes at most, and she say very still through it all, watching him with a kind of dazed horror as he went further and further away from her with each word.
  • Everything was automatic now-down the steps to the cellar, the light switch, the deep freeze, the hand inside the cabinet taking hold of the first object it met. She lifted it out, and looked at it. It was wrapped in paper, so she took off the paper and looked at it again.
  • At that point, Mary Maloney simply walked up behind him and without any pause she swung the big frozen leg of lamb high in the air and brought it down as hard as she could on the back of his head.
  • She is excited for her husband to come home because she loves him so very much. She loves when she gets to please him by making drinks for him and making him feel happy. She does not care if she needs to be happy, all she cares is that her husband is happy. 
  • "Who's speaking?" "Mrs. Maloney. Mrs. Patrick Maloney." "You mean Patrick Maloney's dead?" "I think so," she sobbed. "He's lying on the floor and I think he's dead." "Be right over," the man said.
  • "As her husband told her he wanted a divorce, she felt so heartbroken. She felt horror take over her as she heard the terrible news. He didn't seem to care if her feelings were hurt and she was so traumatized. She tried to make it as he didn't even say it and she went to the kitchen to start cooking the lamb leg."
  • She was so traumatized that she felt like she didn't have control over her whole body. She picked up the leg of lamb, and just stared at it.  She was under no control after what her husband just told her. Although, she still wanted to make dinner for him and pretend that it was just a normal day,
