In the U.S.A. diseases took the lives of many people and were common.
During the american civil war diseases were a huge problem for both sides because of the death they caused.
It was very important towards the outcome of the war due to 1/3 of soldiers that died was by disease.
Both typhoid and dysentery are water borne illnesses.
Diseases both helped and hurt our nation by weakening the confederacy and the union.
The reason diseases spread so well was because of the cramped conditions of the soldiers.
