  • The Masque of the Red Death is a story by Edgar Allan Poe. The story takes place during the 1300-1400s during the time of the plague. Prince Prospero takes a bunch of his friends and provides safety for them inside his castle.

  • While in the castle, the people were safe from the plague behind the tall walls.

  • Prince Prospero decides to throw a masquerade ball party for the people inside.

  • During the party, an uninvited guest showed up to the party dressed up as a victim of the bubonic plague that was happening. He proceeded to walk through all the rooms in the castle. Prince Prospero gave chase after the man with a knife.
  • Once the man reached the last room, he turned around to face the Prince. When Prospero saw the man, he collapsed and died. Everyone else inside the castle started collapsing and dying.
