  • Paraphrase: Death comes to pick up a girl for a date and she sees important parts of her life and he keeps her for eternity.
  • Connotation: Imagery is used to create death as a person. By using words such as immortality and eternity it paints a picture in your mind of who the person is.
  • Attitude: The tone of the story is dark and unsure. The tone is portrayed that way by death coming alive.
  • Shift: When she goes from seeing memories from her life that were happy to starting to wither away and seeing dark things such as a tomb stone.
  • Title: She was too caught up in life for death so instead, death stopped her from living.
  • Theme: In life, things don't always go as planned and death may be right around the corner.
