  • There is a girl who comes home from work, after stopping to buy a mystery item in a paper bag, to find her living room completely trashed and the money from her purse stolen.
  • Falling Action
  • The girl checks other places around her house for damage, but only the living room is trashed. She has this feeling steadily rising in her that she may know who did this but she can't quite remember.
  • Falling Action
  • As she checks the final room, the bathroom, she catches her reflection. But her reflection changes to sickly colors to show what she really looks like as the girl in the mirror eludes to the fact that she herself wrecked the living room during one of her highs.
  • Conclusion
  • The girl continues back into the living room to sit in her mess created when she was angry at her famliy for not lending her money and is at a loss as she whispers over and over "it never gets better..."
  • It never gets better
  • The girl tries her hardest to stay away from the bag since she sees how bad it's messing up her life. She spends the rest of the day in her living room and trying to fight off her addiction.
  • The girl ends up letting her resolve fall and she takes the bag of meth out in the middle of the night to her porch. The reader can infer that she will end up smoking it.
