  • Once upon a dark and twisted towards a mentally insane time, Fortunado insulted Montressor. Montressor was furious and so he made up his mind to kill Fortunado. he planned and made sure he wouldn't be caught.
  • the cask of amontillado
  • Montressor met Fortunado at the carnival and convinces him that he has bought a cask of amontillado. He is unsure if it's real so he wants Fortunado to test it with him.
  • the name Fortunado
  • montressor lead fortunado deep into his wine cellar and chained him to a wall to die. because there were dead bodies everywhere, from where people had gotten drunk and died down there, no one would suspect this particular one was a murder.
  • Fortunado is dressed as a fool
  • the cask of amontillado was a symbol of Fortunado's greed. He so much wanted to have this wine for himself that he ignored his own health so that some other man could not try it in his place.
  • Fortunado sounds like fortunate which is ironic because in the end, Fortunado dies. Yeah, he's VERY fortunate now.
  • this is ironic because the guy dressed as a fool continually called luchesi an ignoramus.
