  • Book Cover
  • Fahrenheit 451
  • The meeting
  • "Am I what?" Of course I am happy
  • "Are you happy?"
  • Mildred's Overdose
  • "Oh no, Mildred what have you done?!"
  • This is the book
  • Montag Keeps a book
  • Clarisse and Montag meet for the first time. Clarisse is strange to Montag compared to the rest of the people in the world but Montag takes a liking to her.
  • Montag's talk with Beatty
  • "Well we let him keep it 24 hours and then if he doesn't burn it himself we come and do it for him."
  • Mildred overdoses on sleeping pills making Montag realize that he is not happy making what Clarisse said understandable. He then calls the hospital to have Mildred's stomach pumped and her blood cleaned.
  • Montag calls Faber
  • "How many copies of Shakespeare and Plato are there?"
  • "None! You know as well as I do. None!"
  • Montag takes a book without willingly doing it. His hands had a "mind of their own" as he stuffed the book under his arm. Then as they were trying to leave the owner of the house struck a match burning her and the house to the ground.
  • When Montag doesn't come to work Beatty stops by his house to see how he is doing. Montag said he was sick but he was just worried because he stole a book. Beatty had a conversation about the way their society is and about books.
  • "What would happen if a fireman took a book home?"
  • Montag calls Faber and asks how many copies of certain books are still available and he says that he cant say that over the phone it could be a set up so Montag hangs up and goes to the subway to go to Faber's house to talk to him and to try to get Faber to teach him about books.
