Storyboard Text

  • Nicholas, a young student and astrologer, comes to rent a room at a rich carpenter's house.
  • He starts to flirt with the carpenter's wife, Alison.  She is annoyed at first but then falls in love.
  • My darling, you must love me right away or I will die, God save me!
  • To distract the carpenter, Nicholas pretends to have a vision that the world will be flooded the next day.  According to Nicholas, the carpenter can save himself, his wife, and Nicholas if he makes them all bathtubs.  He must also keep away from his wife while making the preparations.
  • Alas! Wellaway
  • Abalson, a young man from town who is deeply in love with Alison, stands outside her window that night and begs her for a kiss. Alison cheekily sticks her posterior out the window and he kisses it, not being able to see in the dark.
  • Hahahahaha!
  • Tee hee!
  • Abalson's love is gone.  He seeks revenge.  He goes to town to get a hot iron, comes back, and smacks Nicholas's posterior with it when he sticks his out the window this time.
  • May Satan take my soul if I'd not pass up owning this whole town that I might be avenged for this despite they've done to me.
  • The carpenter, awakened by Nicholas's screams, thinks the flooding has started.  He cuts his bathtub loose and falls to the floor, breaking his arm.  Later, Alison and Nicholas tell him that he was out of his mind for thinking the world was going to end.
