  • The first scene took place at a carnival which Montresor told how Fortunato have done bad thing with him and thought about killing Fortunato
  • Tone
  • Montresor and Fortunato left the carnival. Montresor took Fortunato to a catacomb and make him even more drunk by give Fortunato drink.

  • Ugh! ugh! ugh! ugh! ugh! ugh! ugh! ugh! ugh! ugh!
  • Montresor made Fortunato drunk and killed him by locks him in chains and wall up him which he dies slowly
  • Theme
  • The author of this story have been written as Montresor. In the story shows that he has very dark and creepy attitude according to the way he choose to killed Fortunato.
  • The author make us see a real scene that has happened in our own mind of Fortunato have a bad coughing when he was down there by using imagery. "Ugh! ugh! ugh! ugh! ugh! ugh! ugh!"
  • The theme of the cask of Amonitillado is about alcohol and drug. Fortunato drunk too much alcohol and that is one of the opportunity that Montresor can kill him more easily.
