Alexander Hamilton (right) and Aaron Burr (left) prepare to duel after years and years of insults and political attacking from both sides . This is the climax of the book.
Hamilton throws away his shot in the duel, hoping Burr is shooting to wound, but Burr hits him directly in the stomach.
Hamilton falls to the ground and a doctor rushes to his side. Hamilton looks at him, says "This is a mortal wound doctor," and falls unconscious. Hamilton dies the next day. This is significant because it is the death of a main character.
