The reason for exploration and the danger of exploring.
Queens from different countries would send explorers to find various things such as gold, land, riches and treasure, spices, and to spread their empire.
But the path to find riches or land was never clear, there were some obstacle . Some explorers made it and some didn't
The first obstacle was poor maps and poor navigational tools. There were very few maps and even those were often inaccurate, or wrong. Other than the compass which helped the explorers identify directions. explorers had to observe birds, schools of fish, winds, and cloud types to help them navigate across the Atlantic Ocean.
Don't worry we are right... wait, i don't think this map is accurate.
Where are we going?
The second obstacle was a lack of adequate supplies. There were no enough supplies on board to last more then a few weeks. Even in good weather, however, life on a ship during the age of exploration was difficult. Roaches and rats were constantly present and sailors slept whenever they could find time and wherever they could find room
I'm so hungry!
The third obstacle was disease and starvation. sailors often became sick due to bad water supplies and a lack of fresh fruits and vegetables. when food supplies ran low, sailors were forced to eat rats or saw dust
