  • THE BATTLE OF BROOKLYN
  • TRENTON & PRINCETON
  • THE BATTLE OF SARATOGA
  • General William Howe and the British troops marched towards Brooklyn to attack General George Washington and his troops to take control of the Hudson River.
  • WINTER AT VALLEY FORGE
  • 
  • America had won both Battle of Trenton and Princeton, as they ended off the year with a win after many loses against the British.
  • THE SOUTHERN CAMPAIGN: COWPENS & GUILFORD COURTHOUSE
  • The Americans defeated the larger British force and won the battle. Turning point where France agrees to help the Americans defeat the British and claim victory.
  • THE BATTLE/SIEGE OF YORKTOWN
  • George Washington and his men struggled through harsh weather, lack of sources, and diseases such as small pox. 
  • Both Cowpens and Guilford Courthouse battles were resulted of the Colonists winning. Led to the end of the Revolutionary War after victory in Yorktown for the Americans.
  • British's Goal: take control to win the war
  • This battle ended with the British surrendering and ending the Revolutionary War. After Washington's success of capturing more than 6,000 troops, the colonies finally get to govern themselves.
