I Jose Arcadlo Benadia claim this piece of land for my family!
In the middle of the 19th century, Jose Arcadlo Buendia discovered a place of respite for his family. Macondo he named it, and it is the center of the story.
There was a civil war in Macondo between what many of its natives believed was a tyrannical conservative government. Led by the liberals to overthrow the government, spearheaded by Colonel Buendia.
The son of that colonel then proceeded to be tyrannical and throw Macondo back into its conservative ways.
