THE UNNAMED NARRATOR
- Roderick Usher's childhood friend - The narrator is on the outside of whatever eerie relationship the Ushers' share.
-The fact that Roderick calls on him for help is interesting as his "only personal friend."
He suffers from an "acute bodily illness- of a mental disorder" In his final scene he dies of fear due to his overly acute senses. Him and his twin sister have 'connection'. Some theories suggest incestual.
-Roderick's twin -One theory is that she doesn’t fully exist from the start, spiritual doppelganger half of Roderick. This is why the narrator rarely sees her. -It’s why she can come back from the dead – because she wasn’t fully human in the first place.
