Storyboard Text

  • (4.1.105-106)
  • And in this borrowed likeness of shrunk death shalt continue two and forty hours.
  • (4.1.45-46)
  • O, shut the door! And when thou hast done so, Come weep with me, past hope, past cure, past help.
  • (4.5.38)
  • Death is my son-in-law. Death is my heir.
  • The Friar is telling Juliet of how long the potion will last and how it will affect her and make her look dead. Juliet then accepts the liquid and thanks the Friar for his help. She then leaves to go back home and wait for knight.
  • (4.1.83-84)
  • Or shut me nightly in a charnel house, O'ercovered quite with dead men's rattling bones, With reeky shanks and yellow chapless skulls.
  • Juliet is trying to explain to the Friar of how bad of a situation she is in and needs his help. The friar then tries to tell her to stop crying and that he will try to help. The Friar then comes up with a plan to make her look dead so she can live with Romeo in piece.
  • (4.1.1)
  • I want Juliet's wedding moved to Thursday!
  • Lord Capulet has accepted death upon his daughter and is saying that death is now a person part of the family. The Nurse is shocked that Juliet has done this and blames it on her parents for not caring about her opinion. Lady Capulet doesn't know what to do but cry and pray that Juliet will come back alive.
  • (3.5.160)
  • Hang on thee, young baggage! Disobideient wretch!
  • Juliet is describing what situations she would go through to escape her situation. That situation is that she is currently in an argument with her parents about wanting her to marry Count Paris. She then goes to the Friar to speak to him about her predicament and how she can escape it.
  • I would say that Lord Capulet is responsible for the "death" of Juliet. One reason is because if she did not marry Paris he would disown her which made her very angry. Another reason is that he moved the date of the wedding up without Juliet's opinion and that's why she drank the liquid.
  • When Lord Capulet said to Juliet that he was disappointed in her for not marrying. But as dramatic irony we know that Juliet is married to Romeo. Lord and Lady do not know that she is married to Romeo creating the irony.
