Storyboard Text

  • (4.1.104-106)
  • " Thou shalt continue two-and-forty hours"
  • (4.1.78-80)
  • "O, bid me leap, rather than marry Paris"
  • (4.5.35-36)
  • "O son! The night before thy wedding day- Hath death lain with thy wife"
  • When Friar Lawrence says " Thou shalt continue two-and-forty hours" He is refering to the serum that he is going to give juliet that will put her to sleep for fourty-two hours. So that she will not wake up the day of her wedding with Paris and when she wakes up Romeo will come and save her.
  • (4.1.78-89)
  • "or bid me lurk- Where serpents are"
  • When Juliet visits Friar Lawrence her tone is very desperate. Such as when she says "O, bid me leap, rather than marry Paris -From off the battlements of youndertower: - Or walk in thievish ways". This shows that Juliet is willing to do anything to avoid getting married to Paris.
  • (2.6.37)
  • "Till holy church incorporate two in one." 2.6.37
  • Lord Capulet personifies death by saying "O son! The night before thy wedding day- Hath death lain with thy wife." When talking to Paris. This is because Death is not a person and can not take something or in this case someone like a person can.
  • (3.5.160-162)
  • Hang thee, young baggage! Disobedient wretch! I tell thee what: get thee to church o' Thursday, Or never after look me in the face.
  • Juliet first describes the tomb as being disgusting and full of dead bodies by saying "or bid me lurk- Where serpents are". However later on she says "new-made grave" and would be willing to do it for Romeo.
  • I blame Friar Lawrence for the problems that have erupted because if he would of used his judgement and not marry Romeo and Juliet who have only known each other for a few days prior to there wedding. I believe Juliet would of had an easier time marring Paris if she wouldn't of married Romeo.
  • I noticed dramatic irony when Juliet rufused to marry Paris and her father Lord Capulet was furious with her because he didn't understand why. However the audience knows why she didn't marry Paris and that is because she is already married to Romeo.
