  • Making Great Decisions: Gina's Story
  • I don't have my license!
  • Gina! You should take your parent's car so we can get stuff for our party
  • G - Give Thought to the Problem
  • R - Review Your Choices
  •
  •
  • Gina is an only child and her parents are never home because of work. Therefore, Gina has friends over for parties all of the time because she is home alone often. Gina has not been caught. Recently, Gina's friends challenged her to take them for a ride in her parent's car, but she doesn't have her license yet.
  • E - Evaluate the Consequences of Each Choice
  •
  •
  • Gina goes home and does some homework. Then, she begins to think about her conflict.
  • A - Assess and Choose the Best Choice
  • Guys, I am not going to drive without a license. It is too big of a risk.
  • Gina thinks about her choices. She either has to steal her parent's car and drive her friends around, or she can take the bus home.
  • T - Think It Over Afterward
  • I made the right decision!
  • You were right, Gina.
  • Gina thinks about the possible consequences. She could get in trouble, maybe even arrested. On the other hand, her friends could be mad at her.
  • Gina decides that she'd rather have her friends be mad at her than risk getting into a lot of trouble.
  • Gina's friends are made at her at first, but then realize she was right and made the best decision for all of them. Gina feels great about her decision to stay safe.
