Morris (Mr. Whites old friend) comes over to meet Mr.White and his family. Soon after arriving Morris joins the White family for dinner.
Mr. White's son notices the Monkey's paw and points it out to the others. Morris explains how he got the Monkeys paw grants 3 wishes and how those who carry or wished for anything with the Monkeys paw will be filled with sorrow. Soon after he threw it in the fire.
The White family wishes farewell to Mr. Morris. Soon after, Mr. White's son goes the chimney to recover the monkey paw. He recovers it and ask his parents to make a wish, which happened to be about $200 pounds.
Mr. White's son goes to his job which happens to be a factory but while working he gets caught in the machine which leads to him dying.
The White family gets news on what happened about their son in the factory but the person who delivered the news also said they would receive a compensation which happened to be the $200 pounds. The thing they wished for.
Mrs. White wishes for her son to come back to life. Soon after, wishing for that there is someone banging at the door. Mrs. White rushes over to the door but Mr. White is crying because Mrs. White didn't see how he looked after he died, like what Mr. White did. Mr.White grabs the monkey paw and wishes for their son to go back to his grave and to remain dead.
