There was an awful train crash. Brently Mallard, Mrs. Mallard's husband, was one of many who was thought of to be killed.
Mrs. Mallard's sister told her what happened to her husband. She broke down crying in her sister's arms, then went upstairs.
While she was upstairs grieving, she realized that this was a good thing. She was free to be herself now. She was now happier that her husband was gone.
Louise came down the stairs feeling great, but did not know that her husband was there and still alive.
Louise saw Mr. Malland and died from a diagnosed heart problem. The doctor said it was because she was so happy to see her husband.
