Storyboard Text

  • The year is 1787, and the Northern and Southern states are at a disagreement over counting slaves a being taxed or not. Let's see how it is going...
  • We should not count slaves as part of the population and should stay keeping them as property because they can not vote, and what other "power" do they have?
  • North (Left) South (Right)
  • If us Southern states count slaves as population, we will have more power than you, so I say we count them.
  • Of course I disagree! Why would I want the Southern states to have more representation to Congress then us!
  • Well what do you want then?!
  • POOF
  • James Wilson
  • AAAAAAGH! WHO ARE YOU GUYS?!
  • Roger Sherman
  • We say that you count the slaves as 3/5 of a person to tax so you can both get some good out of this! We'll call it... THE 3/5 COMPROMISE
