  • Many big states, such as Pennsylvania, Virginia, Massachusetts, and New York, wanted proportional representation in congress. However, small states like New Jersey and Georgia wanted equal representation.
  • I think many of the small states, like New Jersey, would agree with me.
  • No, no, no, you have this ALL wrong! Proportional Representation is OBVIOUSLY the way to go!

  • In order to satisfy both the large and small states, the idea of having a bicameral system came into play. Instead of having one body, they made two. The Senate would have equal representation, while the house of representatives would have proportional.

  • Not only should Slavery be legal in the states, but all other persons should count in populations.
  • Both of those proclamations are absurd! All slavery should be outlawed!
