Once there was an island that was was home to two clans of warriors. One clan was dressed in red and called themselves the Coyotes, and the other clan was dressed in green and called themselves the Frogs.
The Coyotes were hot-headed and arrogant, and always ready for war.
The Frogs wanted to advance their society, and devoted less money and time to war preparation. They didn't want to fight the Coyotes.
Slowly, as the years passed, the Coyotes expanded their army. They had more people and more land, and wanted the entire island for their own clan. The clans on the island had not fought for many centuries, but each side became more and more tense with the other.
One day, the Coyote leader called for a meeting in a private hut between the two sides of the island with the Frog leader. Regretfully, the Frog leader walked to the hut, where he saw the Coyote leader waiting for him.
“Listen,” he told the Frog leader. “Your clan is weak. You have little over 200 people trained to fight. Our army consists of 1,000 warriors.” The Coyote leader was right. The Frogs’ army was just one fifth the power of the Coyotes’ army, and they weren’t trained nearly as hard or for as long. Nearly half of the entire Coyote clan were trained and prepared to attack the Frogs.
“We are attacking and wiping you out tomorrow,” continued the Coyote leader. “Your best option is to leave, or surely we will crush you.” The Frog leader walked back to his hut, depressed. He did not want to leave the island. That night, he began to dream up a plan.
