Storyboard Text

  • "Come with me down to your vaults."
  • "OK"
  • "Yes, I am fine, it won't kill me, lets keep going."
  • "Ugh! Ugh! Ugh! Ugh!"
  • "Are you alright."
  • Foreshadowing: Montresor and Fortunato meet at the carnival and Montresor brings tells him to go down to his vaults. Which gives the reader a hint that he is planning an attack on Fortunato.
  • Irony: Fortunato says he won't die from the cough. What he didn't know is that he would die very soon and the cough may have a been some of the reason why he died so fast.
  • Mood: They had just go to the end of the crypt and it was filled with human remains and skeletons. It changes the mood to be more of a scary feeling.
  • "Fortunato, Fortunato." Maybe I shouldn't have killed him
  • Imagery: The author really describes the room by saying: the walls were about four feet in depth, three in width, and six or seven in height. There are two colossal supports of the roof of the catacombs.
  • Symbolism: The torches symbolize life, because when the torch is lit up Fortunato is still alive but when the torch goes out so does Fortunato.
  • Irony: The whole story Montresor was trying to kill Fortunato, and when he did he kind of regretted it.
