A movie about a young girl named Nya, who lives in war-torn Syria. She had a perfect life before her town was bombed, and her and her family have no way to escape the harsh conditions after the bombing. She must travel far for simple necessities such as water and food because she is in a region of Syria that the aid workers can not reach because of the dangers.
"Nya's job ......... was to fetch water." ( Park, pg. 26)
This is my village. We have clean water, an endless food source because of the fertile soil. Every day I go to the town well and receive water for my family.
Now my village has been bombed and almost no one is left except my family and I. There is no more fertile soil because of the debris from the explosions. Our food supply is running low and our water well is ruined. I don't know what we will do!
"In the Syrian countryside....... the village of Ter Ma'aleh was shattered." ( Fahim, pg. 1)
Now, I must walk very far to fetch water for my family to drink so we can survive in the harsh conditions of war. It takes me most of the day.
"It would take her half the morning if she didn't stop on the way. Heat. Time......" ( Park, pg. 1)
