This storyboard does not have a description.
"Richard, don't encourage her. You always take her side."
I didn't do anything.
"Cheryl, she didn't mean anything."
I wish I could take back my birthday wish. I didn't know it would make Mom so upset.
"Are you saying that I am?"
"I won't let you do this to her, Cheryl. She's not to blame."
"Eagan, go to your room. Your father and I are having a discussion."
"How can you do this? How can you ruin a little girl's birthday?"
Eagan gets into a fight with her parents while they are fighting. For Eagan's sixth birthday, her mom made her a cake and she wished to have a sister.
Eagan's parents, Richard and Cheryl, are still arguing and Eagan regrets wishing for a sister. She wonders why her Mom always gets upset with her.
This flashback impacts the novel because it further shows how Eagan's mother is tough on her and how there is tension between her and her mother a lot. Her mother yells at her for the tiniest reasons and this shapes the story into having the tension between them, which is very important to the story.
