Stalin made a command government, so he controlled everything. He made transportation easier. Working wages were low, and Stalin made poor products. The workers could not go on strike.
Stalin made collectives, large farms, and provided tractors, seed, and fertilizers. Peasants were allowed to keep their houses and other belongings, but all farm animals and crops had to be given to the government.
Stalin put people into gulags which were labor camps. This was during the Great Purge. The purges mostly fell on the members of the elite group because they were the most innovative and strong minded.
