The Jews vs. German society.
Mrs. Van Daan Vs. Mr. Van Daan.
Anne Vs Her depression.
This is the main conflict in the story as Anne and her family were Jewish. This conflict causes them to go into hiding to avoid being captured and killed. Many other families had to do this as well.
Mr. and Mrs Vaan Daan live in the Annexe with the Franks and they are always fighting. Mrs. Van Daan flirts with Mr. Dussel which makes Mr. Van Daan angry. Also, they never seem to agree on anything.
This is another big conflict, as through out Anne's diary we see her becoming more and more depressed. This depression is very apparent and leads to other conflicts, such as guilt and fear. It leads Anne to be unhappy in all that she does.
