  • That may take a while to explain, Fred.
  • Yeah, but I don't!
  • Um.. Mrs.Jackson what is a neurophysiology?
  • I have time.
  • Okay then. Basically they're a doctor that specialize in helping with problems involving your nervous system. Someone with epilepsy or that have strokes often would see a neurophysiologist.
  • That sounds cool how do you become one, Mrs. Jackson?
  • You'll need a minimum of a Doctorate's degree, also you'll need to go through a fellowship program, and be licensed by the ABNM
  • Mary! How are you?
  • They usually work in clinical settings like a hospital, but they can work in more academic areas like labs. It can get pretty stressful for them.
  • I assume you've been taking the medicine I prescribed you?
  • I'm not too good. I had another stroke, Doctor Stevens.
  • Mary, go home rest and take your medicine!
  • Uhh...
  • Whoops
  • They have a starting salary of about $160,000 annually, and a average salary of about $220,000. Also they usually need to be able to work with other neurophysiologists, doctors, and nurses.
  • It was alright. I'm gonna wait for Veronica and catch you tomorrow.
  • Hey Betty how was your day?
  • Yeah, see you later.
  • No problem.
  • There are some other advantages and disadvantages like you have normal working hours and you'll get to help patients with epilepsy and other conditions, but you'll have to be on call on weekends and there is a chance that you can't help your patient.
  • Hmm, I didn't think about that. Thank you for all the information Mrs. Jackson.
  • AH! I'm late!!!!
